Our read on it
The idea solves a real problem every parent knows: the child wants the actual remote and nothing else will do. This is a lookalike in the same shape and size but built to be chewed. Having it means a real remote that survives the drool, and batteries kept out of a child's hands, and that second point matters more than it sounds.
Pros
- A convincing substitute for the real remote
- Soft flexible material that reduces mouth injury risk
- Keeps real batteries out of the child's hands
- Inexpensive
Cons
- May not convince a child who has seen the real one
- A single piece, needing a wash after every drop
Important safety information
An important point beyond this toy itself: real remotes contain button batteries, and swallowing one is a life-threatening emergency within two hours requiring immediate emergency care. Check that the battery compartment on every remote in the house is screw-closed. As for this teether, inspect it before every use and discard at the first tear.
