Our read on it
Ten riyals, cheaper than a coffee. Its real benefit is linguistic despite the look: a child who hears their own word repeated back says it more, and repetition is what builds language. More practically, it has a volume control button, which is the difference between a toy you can live with and one that gets hidden in a cupboard after two days.
Pros
- Among the cheapest here
- Repeating speech encourages a child to say words more
- Volume control, a rare feature in these toys
Cons
- It will repeat everything said in the room
- Modest build quality at this price
Important safety information
Check the battery compartment is screw-closed and cannot be opened by the child, since small batteries are a serious swallowing hazard. Inspect the toy regularly and discard at the first break exposing internal parts. Keep the volume at its lowest near a child's ear.
