Our read on it
The important phrase in this pump's description is closed system: a barrier that stops milk reaching the motor and tubing, so nothing you cannot clean builds up inside. That is what separates a pump you can rely on for months from a cheap one. The internal battery means pumping in a car or at work without hunting for a socket, and that is the feature that distinguishes this model from its S2 sibling.
Pros
- A closed system keeps milk out of the motor and tubing
- Internal battery for pumping away from mains power
- 12 suction levels and 5 speeds for fine control
- A massage mode before pumping that helps let-down
- Spare parts are widely available and reasonably priced
Cons
- Not worn inside clothing like a wearable pump
- Expensive
- The stock flange size does not suit everyone and you may need to buy another
Important safety information
Flange size matters more than the pump itself: the wrong size causes pain, cracking and a drop in output. If pumping hurts, the problem is the size or the suction level, not your tolerance. Wash every part that touches milk after each use and sterilise daily. Tubing is not washed unless milk got into it, and see a lactation specialist for any persistent pain.
