Our read on it
Three bottles for the same price as eight elsewhere on this list, and the whole difference is the Calma teat. That teat is designed for a real problem: an ordinary bottle lets milk flow by gravity, so the baby learns the easier route and later refuses the breast. Calma requires the baby to suck and pause the way they do at the breast. If you only want storage bottles the cheaper set wins, but if you are combining breast and bottle, this is the difference.
Pros
- The Calma teat requires sucking as at the breast, reducing later breast refusal
- A long-established brand in the breastfeeding world
- Serves both storage and feeding with no transfer of milk
- BPA free
Cons
- Only three bottles for the same price as eight on the same list
- A 150ml capacity is quickly outgrown
Important safety information
Wash and sterilise before first use and after every feed. Pull-test the teat before each use and replace it at the first tear or widened hole, since a torn teat is a choking hazard. Discard what is left in the bottle an hour after the feed began. Never leave a bottle in a sleeping baby's mouth, which causes bottle decay and a choking risk.
